The extensive wine list covers all needs and tastes but also adds some local variety with the addition of several award winning English wines, also from Chapel Down on the Weald of Kent. With 4 hand pumps that change ales frequently, offering an excellent variety of local ales from the Whitstable Brewery, Westerham Brewery, Old Dairy Brewery and Musket Brewery to more countrywide ales from further afield like Sharp’s Brewery, Adnams Brewery, Fullers, and Wells and Young’s and even as far afield as the Caledonian Brewery. The Black Horse Inn also offers one of the best selections of real ale in Maidstone. Definitely for a bed and breakfast guest! The ‘infamous’ Biddenden Cider is also available on the bar and at 8.4% abv is not for the faint hearted. Having this on the bar really stands the Black Horse Inn apart from others locally. The Black Horse is the perfect marriage between traditional & modern, featuring a classic London pub downstairs and a sleek, speakeasy-style cocktail bar. This is a delight: crisp, dry and refreshing. Guests are not only able to bring their dogs with them to stay (cleaning costs will be incurred), but also eat with them in the dog loft, with the same menu choices as the main restaurant!Īlongside main stream brands on the bar, Curious Brew from Chapel Down winery in Tenterden is offered as a lager alternative. As a pet friendly bed and breakfast, one of very few in Kent, the Black Horse Inn offers a dog friendly environment for those travelling with their hound. Black Hammer Reading Order The world of Black Hammer, created by Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston (and published by Dark Horse Comics), is my favorite addition to superhero comics of the 2010’s. The Pilgrim Suite offers an excellent opportunity for those looking for a wedding venue, conference venue, or those wishing to celebrate a special occasion to do so in marvelous countryside surroundings.

The restaurant menu is large and varied and can cater for those just looking for a sandwich or light lunch, a classic pub meal or indeed a full a la carte offering, washed down with a glass of wine from a local vineyard or a well-kept local real ale.
